TED YOHO

Prior to congress Ted practiced veterinary medicine for 30 years. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1983. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, at the age of 19 February 14, 1975. They have been married for over 47 years and have 3 great adult children and 2 grandchildren.

When asked why he was running for Congress, “Carolyn and I started out on our own at 18 and broke. We knew what we wanted to accomplished, worked hard and achieved our American Dream but thats under attack today due to a lack of leadership and vision in Washington. Being an American we are blessed with our constitution that provides opportunity for all if you embrace it and work. My alignment in life is God, Country and Family and we are truly blessed as a nation. We have a nation to save lets get to work”.

Congressman Yoho served 8 years in the US Congress representing the 3rd Congressional District of Florida. Ted ran on an 8 year term limit pledge and honored that commitment.

Ted first enter Congress in 2013 as a member of the 113th Congress. He has served on the Agriculture and Foreign Affairs Committee during his time in congress. In the 115th Congress Ted became the chairman of the Asia-Pacific Sub-Committee. During the 115th, Ted and his Team ushered in and was able to get passed the BUILD Act with bi-partisan support.

This BUILD Act authorized the creation of the United States International Development Finance Corporation (USDFIC) while replacing OPIC, (Overseas Private Investment Corporation). The USIDFC commonly referred to as DFC is the largest reform to foreign aid in decades. It is a tool to modernize foreign aid and facilitate countries to move from, “Aid to Trade”. The DFC is also a development tool that will help counter China’s “One Belt one Road initiative”.

Congressman Yoho was honored with several distinguished awards during his short eight years in Congress.

On December 8, 2020 Emperor Naruhito of Japan bestowed upon Congressman Yoho the distinguished “Order of the Rising Sun” and the Country of Mongolia presented on April 13, 2021 the coveted “Order of the Polar Star”. Previous American recipients of the Order of the Polar Star were President Obama, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and Senator John McCain and now Ted.

These two awards are equivalent to the Presidential Medal of Freedom. These were given to Congressman Yoho for his contributions in strengthening the relationships between the United States and these two countries.

In addition, the Golden Plow Award was presented by the American Federation of Farm Bureaus. This is the highest award given to a sitting member in the U.S. House of Representatives or Senate. Ted is the only individual from Florida to ever receive this award. This is awarded for contributions to Agriculture both in the state and nationally.

Ted is married to his wife Carolyn for 46 years and together are proud parents of 3 children.

When asked why foreign policy is important he responded, “good foreign policy leads to good economic policy and good trade policy which creates strong national security”.

We live in the greatest country in the world because of Gods Blessings and the sacrifice of those willing to serve this nation. It’s this generations duty to honor those Blessings and to answer the call of duty to unite this nation as one under God.
